About our watchmaker
Tomáš Potoček, founder of the Rivus brand, is a watchmaker with a deep connection to the craft that has fascinated him since childhood. He acquired the basics of watchmaking through his own curiosity—he got his first watch at the age of 7 and broke it almost immediately. That's when his fascination with what's inside was born. He spent his free time taking apart various watches and discovering how they worked. This passion later led him to study world-renowned watch brands and to understand complex watch movements.
Although he worked in a different industry for many years, his desire to devote himself to watchmaking ultimately prevailed. His hobby became his profession, and his love for precision craftsmanship gave rise to the Rivus brand. Tomáš is the driving force behind every model, into which he pours his experience, precision, and dedication to his craft.
How did we start?
Our watchmaker had a clear vision in mind – to create a watch that would be the most beautiful in the world for him personally. First, he created one model for his own enjoyment, then another for a few close friends. But why stop at just a few pieces when you can literally connect a piece of the universe to the movement?
